    The Challenge

    The problem on the ground

    Transplanting is one of the most labour-intensive steps in commercial vegetable production. The partner nursery supplies plug trays to dozens of contracted acres each season, and every transplanting window compresses into a handful of weeks when trained crews must place tens of thousands of seedlings by hand.

    Hand-planting quality varies with crew fatigue: uneven depth and inconsistent spacing produce ragged stands, complicate later weeding passes, and shave yield at harvest. Labour availability during peak windows has become the nursery's binding constraint.

    Our Approach

    What we deployed

    The AnaVruksha Seedling Planter was trialled across successive transplanting blocks alongside hand-planting crews. Camera-guided grippers assessed each seedling's orientation and vigour, placing only viable plants while skipping tray cells flagged as weak.

    Active depth control adapted to varying bed preparation across blocks, and multi-row tooling kept per-pass throughput close to crew pace with a single operator.
